Nestled in the enchanting wine region of Južnoslovenská in southern Slovakia, Château Belá stands as a true hidden gem. Its captivating story begins at the magnificent 18th-century Château Belá estate, a place steeped in charm and rich history. Perched high above the majestic Danube River, within the heart of Southern Slovakia's esteemed wine region, this vineyard was brought back to life in 2000 by Countess Ilona von Krockow. Her vision extended beyond just restoring the Château to nurturing the vineyards that the Romans had originally planted, as well as modernizing the 300-year-old cellar. She looked no further than to her neice’s husband, who is none other than renowned German winemaker Egon Müller. Together, they embarked on an ambitious mission to put Slovakian Riesling on the global wine map.

To ensure the highest level of excellence, they called on the expertise of the admired winemaker Miroslav Petrech. With their combined passion and craftsmanship, Château Belá has become a beacon of winemaking brilliance, producing some of Slovakia's most extraordinary Rieslings, on par with the best dry Rieslings from Alsace and the Austria.

The grape there is referred to as Rizling Rýnsky. Most of the vines on their six hectares were replanted after Egon joined in 2001. The soils are comprised of limestone and chalk, with some light loess and clay. They produce between 15,000 to 20,000 bottles a year (including a few reds) depending on the vintage.
